Looking for a challenge for the new year?
The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommends 30 minutes of physical activity a day for adults, 60 minutes for children, at least five days a week.
It can be much easier than you think, and much more fun. There are plenty of ways to get involved in your fitness.
The President’s Council on Fitness cites four groupings of activities which provide different benefits. Aerobic activities benefit your cardiovascular fitness. Muscle strengthening activities improve your overall strength.
Bone strengthening activities improve the strength of your frame. These are especially important for children, adolescents and older adults. Balancing and stretching activities help with physical stability and flexibility, which help reduce the risk of injury.
Activities like Yolf, which touch on all four of these categories, are a fun and easy way to stay involved!
